Living the Good Life in Cancun

Whatever you know about Cancun may only be partly correct. Even though it is famous for its crazy night scene, Cancun is actually a great place to bring your family. Cancun is also famous for its picturesque beaches, lush jungles, and beautiful ocean life. Cancun is a great place to take the whole family, so get a child passport, your passport, and your snorkel, because in Cancun, you can do it all.

Chichen Itza is one of the most unique spots in Mexico to visit. Only a short trip away from Cancun, it is one of the largest Mayan cities, and has the history to show it. Prominent from 250 to 900 AD, Chichen Itza was a hub of Mayan civilization. El Castillo, one of the newly named wonders of the world, is breathtaking. On the Spring Equinox, masses of people come from around the world to see one of the neatest occurrences around. The sun is perfectly positioned on the Spring Equinox to send a slithering shadow of a serpent down the side of El Castillo, finally ending in a carved stone serpent’s head. Rich with history and culture, Chichen Itza has whole promenades covered in Mayan hieroglyphics, giving the modern world a small glimpse into the history of the Mayans.

People from all over the world come to Cancun to partake in some of the best scuba diving around. There are tons of businesses in Cancun that take your family to some of the best spots to dive or snorkel. Cancun offers a variety of places to explore underwater, whether you want to swim through colorful coral reefs, underwater caverns, or even sunken ship wrecks. Come face to face with dolphins, sting rays, sea turtles, colorful fish, or even a whale shark. If you prefer to stay in the shallows, Cancun’s beautiful beaches will provide a just as gratifying adventure.

Selvatica Adventure Park is one of Cancun’s most exciting attractions. If you are looking to let out the explorer in you, Selvatica is the place to do it. Take a whirring zip line through the canopy of the jungle and see the rainforest from a whole new view. Try the zip lines at night and breathe in the night air before enjoying a cozy dinner beneath the moon and the stars. If you decide on the snorkeling adventure, you and your kids can explore one of the safest and most beautiful reefs the world has to offer. Even your little ones (with a child passport) can enjoy the adventures that Selvatica has to offer.

So you can’t talk about Cancun without touching on the night life at least a little. Cancun is home to some of the world’s most famous bars and clubs, and DJ’s from all over come to Cancun in order to play their music. Cancun nightclubs take the club experience to a whole new level. Acrobats reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil provide live performances as well as other unique forms of entertainment. Coco Bongo and The City are a couple of world famous clubs that attract visitors every year. Senor Frogs and Carlos n’ Charlies are bars that have become hot spots for both locals and visitors alike.
