The Future Search Project was implemented from 1993 to1995 by Management Systems International (MSI) of Washington D.C with World Bank funding as one of the Government Social Safety Nets under the purview of the Public Service Management Division at Cabinet Office. The Government saw the Project not as a short term project, but as a long term strategy to provide an intervention to provide counseling and training services to out placed workers. However due to popular demand for the Project services, Future Search services now have a wider applicability beyond the initial target population. Services are now offered to all Zambians, on request.
The overall aim of the program is to empower beneficiaries for self employment, wealth and job creation, leading to reduced poverty levels.
